The mission of the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment is to be a trusted provider of relevant, unbiased institutional information to support decision-makers in planning, policy formulation, resource allocation, and external reporting. After all Good Data are paramount in making Good Decisions. The Office also serves as the responsible unit for regulatory reporting of institutional data to the Alabama Commission on Higher Education, the National Center for Educational Statistics, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, the Office provides planning, training, and support for institutional effectiveness assessment processes; conducts or assists with assessment-related research; and maintains a framework for reporting unit-based outcomes assessment on an annual cycle.
