Web Resources Integration Analyst

Job Summary --

 

The Web Resources Integration Analyst works in a collaborative setting to develop and maintain web applications and services for the Office of Institutional Research and Assessment. This position requires an innovative developer who is self-motivated. Duties will include:

 

  • Build, maintain, and support web-based applications and websites using primarily open source frameworks

  • Manage large and small scale projects for internal and external audiences

  • Create and improve documentation of code and practices

  • Produce instructional content as needed and assist in occasional one-on-one or group application training

  • Research new technology, tools, and approaches to support evolving needs

  • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues


Required Minimum Qualifications --

  • Solid knowledge of HTML(5), CSS, and Javascript

  • Experience planning and developing web applications in a Linux/UNIX environment using PHP, Python, Ruby, Perl or comparable language

  • Comfortable using relational databases and SQL to store and query data

  • Familiarity with open-source development and practices

 

Preferred Qualifications – Relevant experience and desirable skills would include:  structuring and maintaining content and data-heavy websites using a CMS and modular development, ideally Drupal; a strong grasp of current standards for responsive and accessible content and UI; experience with one or more javascript frameworks (Backbone.js, etc); knowledge of MVC or similar architecture separating presentation from application logic; familiarity with common web services or exchanging data with third-party APIs.
